Question

So, my dad filled out the CSS profile before his tax returns were finished and we sent it to each of the schools that I applied for - later, though, when we corrected FAFSA, we realized that he estimated his income to be about 20K more than what it actually was because he included his retirement with his income. It's all correct on FAFSA and the IDOC stuff that we turned in, so is it necessary to correct CSS as well?

I've already e-mailed a school's financial aid office but it's been 4 days and I've yet to hear back, so does anyone else have experience with this?

Thanks!

Aren’t you supposed to include retirement income and regular income?

I don’t really know all of the technicalities and everything, but for some reason the estimated one that we put down for CSS ended up being significantly higher than the gross income that we actually got on the tax return. I don’t know for sure if it was the retirement that we accidentally added in, but it was something like that.
