I'm going to be an undergraduate student at UCSD but I was wondering if there was a graduate school for pharmacy on campus. I don't know if I would need to transfer to a pharmacy school after 4 years of college or can I just apply to Skaggs School of Pharmacy to get my Ph.D?

What do you mean by “graduate school for pharmacy” ? Like, a PhD-granting institution? PhD programs generally pick a science (not a profession) to focus on. The closet field would probably be pharmacology, which is offered by UCSD. The Skaggs school does offer a joint PharmD-PhD program.

Your goal is to get a PhD and NOT a PharmD, right?

Actually idk I’m confused. If I wanted to become a pharmacist which degree would I need?

A pill-dispensing pharmacist: Doctor of Pharmacy, or PharmD

it is NEVER abbreviated PhD … that’s something else.

Ohhh haha ok gotcha. Thanks. :)
