question.

I was thinking of what to do this summer and I came across the idea of taking general chemistry 1 and 2 at a community college. But could also take ib chem in the fall. What sounds more worthy?

Is there any benefit to be derived from using that IB Chem slot to take another class? If not, there’s no reason to take the CC courses. In fact, I’d imagine the IB chem course is more rigorous.

Are you premed?
If so, you might want to consider that many med schools will frown upon (or even not accept) a summer CC general chem course for admissions.

Would even IB Chem at the standard level still be considered more rigorous than the community college course?

An IB Chem course is definitely more rigorous and will look a lot better. This isn’t a shot at community college students, but they tend not to be good students, whereas IB students are at the top of their class.
