So some people got different types of "rejections" right? People either got the choice to go to Armstrong Atlantic or something or got a Conditional Acceptance. I know a lot of people with less "credentials" so to speak that applied to GT and got the CA and a lot more people that were more qualified for GT get the offer for Armstrong Atlantic. Is either of these choices better than the other? Or are these offers exclusive? I got the Armstrong Atlantic offer and I'm just wondering if I'm also elligible for Conditional Acceptance. Or maybe the Armstrong Atlantic offer is "worse" but I dunno, thus this thread.

As far as I know, neither choice is “better” than the other. With the AASU route, you start in the Fall and transfer to Tech sometime later. With the CA route, you start at Tech, but you have to start in the Summer semester. The question becomes, do you want to forgo your last summer before college and start at Tech immediately? Or do you want to use your last summer for personal leisure but start at Tech later through transfer?

To my understanding, the offers are exclusive.

I suspect that you have one of the majors offered at Ga Tech Savannah if you got the Armstrong offer. However, a couple of years ago, I think Tech ranked the CA ahead of the Armstrong offer.

In terms of admissions rank I SUSPECT it follows as below:
- President’s Scholarship Finalist
- President’s Scholarship Semi-Finalist
- Early Admission
- Regular Admission
- Summer Admission
- Waitlist
- Other Offers
- Rejection

You cannot switch your offer.

Remember, there’s a Conditional Acceptance and a Summer Offer. These are different.

A Conditional Acceptance means you start in Atlanta, but you must pass certain classes with a certain GPA to remain at Tech. It is generally offered to children of high profile / high donor alumni.

A Summer Offer means that you are admitted to Tech in Atlanta, but must start in the Short Summer Session. This is generally offered to students that have shown the ability to succeed at Tech, but that have some sort of issue that Tech does not want to report. Example: a student is a 4.0 UWGPA student but has an 1800 SAT score. Looking at the GPA, Tech might want to admit the student, but doesn’t want to have an 1800 SAT score added to its average for students admitted in the Fall.

Then there’s an AASU offer. That’s technically a rejection from Tech in Atlanta, but an offer to attend one of the regional engineering programs in Savannah with a guaranteed transfer if you meet certain requirements (GPA and courses passed).

I would rank them:

PSP

Early Admission

Regular Admission

Summer Offer

Conditional Admission
(admission above, rejection below)

AASU

Rejection

But remember - in 4 years, all that will matter is:

Graduated from Georgia Tech

Graduated from somewhere else

When interviewing for jobs, no one will ever ask if you were admitted regular, early, or with a summer offer. All they care about is that you attended GT and your GPA.
