Questioning a Summer Weekend Conference

Has anyone heard about the "Monster Diversity Leadership Program?" (<a href="http://www.monsterdlp.com/default.asp%5B/url%5D">http://www.monsterdlp.com/default.asp</a>) I saw this advertised on monster's site while I was searching for a job in the middle of the school year, and decided to apply for it. At that time though, I did not submit my resume to them and therefore was waitlisted and rejected from the location that I wanted to go (NYC since I am close to there). They allowed me to apply for another location, so I picked Chicago and put up my resume (I felt there was no harm in doing so). Alas, I was accepted. Is it worth buying plane tickets for this short weekend? It seems very marketed and built up to sound much better than it actually is. I'm just wondering if any of you CCer's have heard about it, and how "prestigious" and worthwhile it really is.

I had not heard of it before. However, in checking the site, it seems like a good program. I have worked in H-R, and my guess is that the program is a wonderful way for prospective employers to meet students who could be fine additions to their company.

My advice would be to go. Sounds like good info and good networking.
