Questions a/b Voting at UC Berkeley

Hi everyone,

I've got a few questions about voting in the November election.

First off, I'll be a first-time voter and my home address is in a county other than Alameda County in California. So , should I register absentee or should I just register with my dorm address this year? I am not sure if I'll be voting on the (local) propositions but for sure the presidential ticket.

Also, where is the nearest precinct at which Cal students can vote? Is there a spot (or more than one) on campus that will be available for voting?

Thanks! :)

It depends. Do you want to be able to vote on issues based here in berkeley, or on issues/propositions in your home town? If it's the latter do absentee from your home town, if it's the former just re-register in berkeley.

I heard there'd be a voting booth at MLK student union and if you re-register in Berkeley you can vote on things that could be really relevant to us as students.

I would register in Berkeley just for the aforementioned reason. You get to vote on propositions relevant to Berkeley. If the general election is anything like the primaries, there will be a voting booth in MLK and one at the YWCA on Bancroft and Bowditch.
