Questions about Admit Week(end)

Forgive me if this is in the wrong place...

I know this varies with different colleges, but what generally happens during admit week? I'm assuming the usual campus tour, classroom visits, etc...

Also, do our parents usually tag along? What would they do?

Thanks a lot!

The entering student often rooms with a current student and sees what dorm life is like. There are activities like tours, club fairs, meals, performances by vocal, comedy or other campus groups, and talks by various college administrators (FA, etc.). Many parents attend and they usually do some activities with the student and others separately.

i went to 2 admit weekends last year. basically the student stays in a dorm room with a freshman or sophomore, goes to classes, panels, social events, eats in the dining halls, and hangs out with other admits/students. Tours are available, but i had my host show me around in a smaller group. Admit weekends are really helpfull to get a feel for the school and how good of a fit it is (especially the social atmosphere).
My dad came to one of the admit weekends with me and was bored the whole time. the students don’t really want to spend the time with their parents–this is their chance to experience college life. There were a few activities for the parents, but i would recommend having the student go alone.
