sooo...I was rejected from USC a couple of days ago and I got the letter that said I could come talk to them over the summer about transferring in as a sophomore...I want to appeal and try to get in as a freshmen, but if I got spring admission through the appeal, I would most likely turn it down and just re-apply as a transfer. I wanted to know if I was to turn down a spring admission, would I still get to talk to them about transferring, or would I lose that opportunity??

also--if anyone has any other information on appealing that would be awesome!!

There have been some discussions about appealing. If you do a search on my name you’ll find some information…socal rejections…and a few others.

But, why would you turn down spring admission? You’re in, you start meeting people…oh, and you’re a Trojan.

haha that is very true…i would probably have to consider it i guess, if it meant being a trojan that much sooner
thanks!!

strawberryfield are you a legacy?

ya…my dad went to USC

do you know if like when we meet with them over the summer its like one on one or is it like a bunch of people there going to talk to at once about transfering

nicole, i think you get your own admission counselor.

oh okay thats cool! im excited to go

It is a one on one (with parents) meeting.

do your parents have to go?

strawberryfield, from what I’ve heard, a successful appeal gets you admitted for Fall 2010. I don’t think anyone on this board has spoken about anyone who appealed and got admitted for Fall of the upcoming year.

Taxi, successful appeals can get you admitted for spring 2010, not necessarily for the following fall. I know of two 2008 applicants who were admitted for this spring after appealing last year.

I saw someone post on one of the other threads about how they knew two people who had been admitted for fall the following year. The point that I was trying to make was that I don’t think an appeal can grant you admittance for the upcoming fall semester.

That’s true Taxi, spring admits will get preference to be placed in fall this year.
