questions about applying grad school

what other criteria do grad school admissions look at applicants besides GPA, test scores, and recommendation letters? do they look at students' extracurricular-activities/leaderships? because i'm currently an undergrad freshman, and not sure if i should spend more times on joining more clubs and getting more leadership roles or spend more times focusing on my grades. thanks

Unless related to your degree, it doesn’t matter at all. Just do it if you love doing it and it makes you happy. Don’t do it for CV-boosting purposes.

Your list is missing the statement of purpose and research experience. Both are also far more important than extracurriculars.

I dont think you can really say that you want to go to graduate school until you have research experience. First of all it is a crucial part of your application, and secondly graduate school is usually for people who want a career in research.

i’m majoring in actuarial science right now, and may switch to accountancy. is accounting a career in research? because i know people who want to take the CPA exam must have a master degree. well correct me if i’m wrong. thanks
