Questions about Berkeley L&S major switch

Hi, I am currently thinking of a double majoring at Berkeley as a Political Science/Economics major, although I am leaning towards Economics. If I was accepted to Berkeley and I have all pre-requisites done will I be allowed to double major? If so, would I be better off attempting to transfer into Political Science as I already have all of the pre-requisites done with As?

Stats: 1. GPA: 3.8
2. ECs: Many like Phi Theta Kappa and research papers
3. Work: I have 3 jobs, although two of them are less than 5 hours a week
4. Honors program but no tap for Berkeley

In short, what I think I am asking is can majors be switched within the department of letters and sciences such as Political Economy, Economics, and Political Science?

Basically at Berkeley you have to declare a major in L&S once you get in. They key is having the majority of the prereqs done so you can declare within a reasonable amount of time.

As for double majoring, I’m not certain. However, I’ve heard from plenty of others that enter as a certain major and double in economics so it’s possible.
