Questions About Berkeley

I had a few questions regarding Berkeley.

How highly regarded is the Environmental Economics and Policy major? Are there other similar majors that people would recommend taking in its place?

How easy is it to double-major? Can a course fulfill more than one requirement? Can you double-major with an additional minor? Double major and double minor? I have a feeling there is a website regarding this exact topic but I have not been able to find it.

How are the foreign language classes at Berkeley? After how long can one expect to become proficient in a foreign language? Is it possible to become proficient in more than one language while at the same time fulfilling a non-language major?

And finally: If you get accepted into Haas (the business school) for your junior year, can you double major across schools (major in say, international business, through Haas while majoring in a different department at Letters and Science?

I know that is a lot of questions, but any help would be great. Feel free to tackle the questions individually. Thank you!

Foreign language classes are def not an easy walk in the park - they may be ok the first 2 semesters, but as you get higher up, they get more difficult. I've heard that Spanish and French are especially intense. Italian is a pretty good (albeit small) department. You take 4 semesters of language instruction (1,2,3,4), then you choose from "upper division" classes which are bascially writing/reading classes in that language (essay writing, reading books, etc).

I believe you can double major with Haas. I've heard of people double majoring in Engineering and Haas (I think they were robots).

Thank you.

Does anyone have anything on the Environmental Economics and Policy major?
