Questions about BS/MD programs...

I'm a freshman in college, taking the following classes:

Psychology:A+
Physics: A+
French 3: A+
Algebra 2: A+
English: A+
History: A+
Drama: A
2 Choirs: A+

These are my grades for second semester so far (I have a 4.3 GPA); my grades from last semester were 5 A+s, 4 As (I think).

None of those are "honors" classes, but that's because my school is very small (less than 200 students), and they aren't offered to freshmen. I'm taking chemistry over the summer so I can take AP Chem next year, as well as AP french and AP European History.

I don't have a ton of extra curriculars, just some community service at a homeless services center, a writing class weekly, tennis, Junior Statesmen of America, and NHD (my project won in county and now we're going to state).

As you can probably see, I like humandities as well as science. I really want to become a psychiatrist because it is kind of a mixture if my two favorite subjects (psychology and human bio).

Anyway, right now I'm really interested in applying to a BS or BA/ MD program later in my high school years. I'd love to know three things:
1) Do you think I have a chance of getting into one of these programs?

2) Do you know any good schools, preferably on the west coast, that have these programs?

3) Is there anything I should/could do to improve my chances of getting in? Just so you know, I've done extensive research of community service opportunities in my area, especially at hospitals, and have discovered that you must be 16 to volunteer (and I'm only 15)

Thanks so much!!!

Yeah, feeling stupid: I’m a freshman in HIGHSCHOOL!!!

AnitaLend,

You should visit the Med School Forum. You will find a lot of good ideas there. You can find that forum by going to the main page, and then scrolling down.

If you haven’t talked with your parents about how they expect you to pay for your education, now would be a good time to open up that conversation. Most parents are really surprised (and not in a way that makes them very happy) when they learn how much college costs now. If you will need financial aid or scholarships to help pay for your education, you and your parents should spend some time reading through the information at [FinAid! Financial Aid, College Scholarships and Student Loans](http://www.finaid.org) and in the Financial Aid Forum here. You will find lots of useful information in both places.

Wishing you all the best!

You got long ways to go but here is a list. Make sure you take SAT IIs when you take AP exams.
