Questions about CAP

I am thinking about doing CAP at UT Tyler.
When you do CAP, can you have a major at that school? If you can't declare a major, can you still do pre-med or would that interfere with the CAP program?
Also,do you automatically get into a CAP school or do you need to do the lengthy application process again?

I’m not sure about your first questions, but I was just reading on the UT website that you don’t have to apply again. You just accept the CAP offer and select where you want to go, no application needed.

To my knowledge you still have to be admitted into the CAP school.

Your CAP offer should indicate the CAP schools you can choose from. You don’t need to apply to them. Just accept the CAP offer to the school you choose.

Hi, I’m currently doing CAP at UTSA.
Let me just tell you first of all that it’s easy and totally worth it!
When it comes to majors, you claim the same major at your CAP school as the major you want to do at UT (some extra complications when it comes to engineering because they look at you as a transfer student…). You can still do pre-med, or better said a major and just indicating you are a pre-med student (pre-med is not a major itself so…), it doesn’t interfere with anything.
You don’t have to do the lengthy application process all over again, however, you will have to pay the application fee to you CAP school. You do have to get accepted to the CAP school itself, however the chances of you getting in are probably 100% since UT chose you as CAP. You won’t personally have to do anything, UT forwards your info and stuff, but I do remember having to pay the application fee.
Hope this clears some things up for you!
