Questions about CGS/Chances

Hey everybody… I’m a high school senior from just outside of Detroit, MI. I don’t have the strongest grades, not too bad, just not the best. I have no problems with being in the College of General Studies for my first two years at BU. Actually, I might prefer it. My study skills are enough to get me by in high school, but from what I’ve heard from my college friends, I might not make it very far at a university… So, what is your opinion about CGS, especially CGS for me based on the information I have provided… Also, what are my chances of being admitted with the following stats:

Detroit, MI/White Male

GPA: w 3.601 uw 3.178

Class Rank: Top 17% (class of about 600)

ACT (didn’t do SAT): 34 composite (36, 35, 35, 29 subscores)

EC’s: Drum Major of the Marching Band, Manager for the top choir on the vocal dept. officer’s board, Jazz Band, School Musicals, Brass Quintet, School Paper

GREATTTTTT recs, pretty good essay

Only child, single parent household

Wow, a 34 on the ACT? That doesn't jibe with your GPA. Most colleges would frown on that combination, as it indicates you were a slacker in high school. CGS standardized test scores are lower than those for the rest of the university. Excluding CGS, the median ACT range is 27-31. If you're accepted, it might be directly into CAS or another college.
