Hi, I was wondering what the Greek scene is like (is it competitive and is it about who you know) and whether the school is considered very conservative. Are many students very religious or is there a range? Thank you. My D already applied, but I realize I don’t know that much about it.
My freshman DD didn’t rush, but many of her friends did. She heard that out of 800 PNMs there were about 400 bids, but I have no idea if that’s accurate (she only knows one girl who didn’t get a bid). Her roommate is a very busy architecture major who still managed to pledge her first semester. It sounds like they are very respectful of the students’ academic obligations.
There are many religious organizations on campus with a lot of social engagement, but I think the student body as a whole is less conservative than it was five years ago - I would guess due to more OOS students. My DD is quite liberal and loves it.
The greek scene is about 25% of the campus. Every girl who participates in then recruitment process fully, according to the guidelines, will receive a bid. Girls who did not receive a bid either decided not to finish the process, did not maximize their selections each day or chose not to accept a bid for whatever reason.
Thank you so much!!
