How hard is it to get into the clusters? I really want to do one but I dont know how competitive it is to get in. What clusters are the most popular (and therefore hardest to get a spot in)? Thanks guys :)

lol, it's not competitive to get in at all.

I don't know much about which ones are the most popular, maybe another poster can help you with that.

I don't really recommend clusters though, not a lot of people seem to like them.

everyone I have talked to has loved their clusters!!! Because of that, I figured that they were very hard to get into.

it's not competitive, but basically, you'll want to go to the earliest orientation possible so you can get your top choice cluster. i'm really not sure which cluster is the most popular though. the only one i've heard anybody say they couldn't get into was the performing arts one. btw the hardest cluster is the social thought one. tons of reading!!

i took the biotech cluster. yea it was pretty interesting. but yea my TA sucked, he was probably the worst TA i'll ever have (and now i think dartmouth grads are stupid cuz he's from dartmouth). clusters are a little more demanding than usual classes. the students are also more competitive and more well-prepared... the better students tend to choose the cluster. my TA said he was surprised by the level of writing that we're at... either that, or dartmouth writing level is just as good as UCLA. overall, to me the cluster was okay. the profs are okay... one of the bio profs was really good though, and funny. he's also proud of the fact that he's on the CIA blacklist cuz he had anthrax in his lab lol. but i'm really enjoying my seminar right now. my prof teaches at the dental school, he went to harvard dental school but was sad he couldnt get into UCLA dental school as a student so he had to go to "second rate" harvard lol.

*sorry for bashing dartmouth, but my TA was horrible.
