hi guys! this isn't a "chance me" thing, I actually just have a question about ED stuff.
If I'm applying ED to Columbia, can I apply EA to other schools (not state schools)?
On Columbia's website, it says that they don't encourage students to do so, but at the same don't restrict them from doing so.
However, on most other EA schools' websites, it says to respect other schools' ED guidelines and not apply ED elsewhere while applying EA there, basically assuming that ED is always restrictive. Is this true?
I'm kind of freaking out. Although Columbia is absolutely my top choice, my chances of admission are incredibly low. But hey, why not. I'll never know if I don't try. :)
Let me know what you guys think about the issue.

Personally. I’ll apply ED 4 Columbia and EA of several other colleges.
I think it just doesn’t matter, as long as u follow the ED agreements.

Columbia has ED, binding admission. You are allowed to apply to other schools’ EA programs. however, some colleges have “Restrictive” EA (REA) or Single Choice EA (SCEA) programs which prevent you from applying to others’ ED or EA programs. If Columbia is your 1st choice, apply ED there. If your list of secondary schools has EA and not REA/SCEA, apply to those. If your secondary schools have REA/SCEA, then you must apply to them RD only.

Examples of REA/SCEA: Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Stanford.

ok thanks so much guys!
