Questions about common application

hi guys, I was filling out the common application and had a few trivial questions. Thanks in advance to anyone who answers them.

in the test score section, do you have to report all scores from every time you took the test?

can an acceptance to a competitive academic program be considered an honor?

what if you report that you'll take a certain SAT2, then end up taking a different one?

the activity section says you can list personal activities, has anyone actually list activities that are nothing more than hobbies? how about in additional info section?

i know these are very trivial questions that perhaps don't matter at all, but details always bug me so i'm posting them up. it's also a way to procrastinate and avoid working on my essay. if you have any other trivial questions, feel free to post them here =P

If you're submitting the SAT's you sort of should so it doesn't look like you're trying to hide something because your official score report has every score on it. As for the ACT's I have no idea.

Can't really give you an answer.

I don't think it would be too much of a problem, if you're concerned just contact the school and tell them afterwards though I think they would get the picture.

I know a few people including myself that have actually listed a hobby, and I even put it as my number one activity and it worked out fine, so don't worry you don't have to flood the activity list with in-school EC's.

Yeah put down your hobbies, it shows the REAL YOU.

Listing hobbies is fine ? What a pleasant surprise :). But what types of hobbies are you talkin' about ? Must they be something special? For instance, my interest is reading English books (I'm an international student), should I list it ? I myself doubt it, since you know that hobby is nothing short of ordinary, even corny. And admission officiers will receive the impression that this applicant is nothing but a bookworm/ a geek and the like =)

If you like doing it, put it down! If not in the main EC bit, then in the additional info bit.

thanx for the reply guys :D looks like i'll list guitar and piano in the additional info altho i suck at them.

Pygmalion: i like reading too, in fact i read Pygmalion just a few days ago lol

Don't worry, reading you should be a fine activity. I know one of my friends put that, another did drawing, and personally I listed playing dominoes with the family, so...

lol i <3 dominoes :)

more questions:

is it better to explain special circumstances in the additional info area, or let the counselor do it? and, will it sound pompous to explain there that a program i attended was competitive? also, should i list the run-of-the-mill summer programs i attended?

thanx :D
