Questions about concurrent courses

Is it feasible to take CS100J and CS101M at the same time? Do prelims/exams conflict, and does CS101M require complete knowledge of CS100J first/

Is it possible to take Econ204 and Econ313 at the same time, or do prelims and exams conflict?

I recognize that rescheduling tests would be a major pain.

Thanks

Feasible? Yeah. But it seems kind of pointless. Why do you want to do it?
There's a good chance prelims would conflict (there's a prelim schedule online). M doesn't require knowledge of J, and in fact both don't require knowledge of anything.

101M isn't supposed to be taken unless you've done some programming before, so if 100J is your first CS class, it might not be the best idea.

The CS101 classes take about 4 weeks and aren't too difficult if you know what you're doing, so you can always take care of it once you've got more programming concepts under your belt. M and J are in completely different languages, but it helps to have some knowledge of things like loops/conditionals/functions etc.

I really, really would not recommend taking 100J, though, because the professor (Gries) is HORRIBLE. He's useless, makes everything overcomplicated with stupid analogies, and you have to buy the textbook he wrote, so you can't escape his crap and just study on your own. (Check out ratemyprofessors if you want more opinions.) (I lasted 7 weeks in his class.)

100M has many more engineers and probably has a better curve and, most importantly, a better professor.
