Hi CC,

Stanford has this major symbolic systems Symbolic Systems - Stanford » Welcome!
that sounds extremely interesting. It's a blend of mostly computer science, psychology, neuroscience, philosophy and linguistics. Graduates go on to become Product managers at places like google, entrepreneurs or user interface designers (human-computer interaction).

Although Duke offers no such major, how difficult would it be to create a similar program using Duke's Program-II? How easy is it for Duke students to get internships in Silicon Valley? Do Duke CS graduates have a good record of getting into top CS masters programs - ie Stanford/Berkeley, etc?

Thanks for your input! I'm trying to decide whether I should reach for stanford REA or go ED to Duke (because I LOVE everything else about it-minus it's lack of a major like symsys that Stanford has to offer)
