I am very interested in finding out how good Duke's creative writing program/faculty and political science department are. I want to compare them to UChicago's programs. Can anyone provide some details about Duke? Also, does anyone have credible knowledge about Duke's debate team/society and what events it is strongest in. I couldn't find anything of substance on the Internet.

Here is contact info for the debate team; I THINK it's current:
Name Position Email
Clare Lascelles President clare.lascelles@duke.edu
Paul Slattery Treasurer paul.slattery@duke.edu

Thanks Jonri on the debate leads. Anybody for creative writing?

I would suggest you enable your PMs if you want more responses.

I don't have direct experience with the creative writing program, but I do know that a variety of writing courses (poetry, fiction, drama, film) are usually offered each semester. You're required to submit a sample work before registering, but I don't think this is usually a problem. UNC also offers great creative writing courses, and the Robertson bus makes it very easy to take courses over there.
