I have several questions regarding Exeter and activities there.

1.What is the cost for transportation between Exeter and NYC? Are the buses home for break free?
2. Do you need a graphing calculator?
3. Does Exeter charge extra for activities such as sports? Is there a team uniform cost?
4. Are there private classes you can take? What are the subject areas for these classes?

no you have to buy the tickets, but the beginning of the year one is free. i dont know what the charge is for NY, but for Boston it's $25.

you need one for class, but you can borrow one from security

no, uniforms are provided by the school. your team may get gear though, which you have to buy. But you can choose not to buy gear.

private classes...i guess they're kind of the 999 courses (independent study), which you can only take if you're advanced.

why do you want to take private classes? the whole point of Exeter is the Harkness method.

I know that people say that Exeter is seemingly more 'distant' or 'cold' than the other schools, but when actually attending the school, does anyone know if that's true? Or if everyone melts together comfortably?

exeter is known for its diversity- did u check out the "how many students does it take to screw in a lightbulb at.." thread. i think with the student body being so diverse, people will be fine. but thats just what i think, not from experience.
