Questions about Exeter

If you have any questions about Exeter, I currently go there, so feel free to post questions or message me.

hey =) i have a few questions about taking spanish at PEA…(or just modern langauges in general)

so how “intense” are the courses? (like…what grammar topics would have been covered in an introductory course?)

I have learnt 2 yrs of spanish at my current school, and just completed the higher level placement test…i left so many blanks (however it says it’s not expected that you get all the questions since its for all the students who have had two years of spanish or higher?) =v=…so if i bombed the test will i be placed at the basic basic level?

that’s harsh XP

didnt you make a thread calling us all ■■■■■■■ and telling use how stupid CC was and that it was a waste of time and useless?

wow is he a ■■■■■
lolz

here is his thread that he made a week ago http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-admissions/903989-website-completely-unnecessary.html

Just curious

most prep schools do not play public schools ever, most prep schools are in a completely different division in sports than public school. most new england “boarding” schools play in the New England Prep League against other boarding schools.

I believe that some of the jv teams play Exeter HS as tune up games. The varsity teams usually do not because they have so many post graduates which make them so much better than the average public high school.

Well, answerbag, seeing that you’re just some kid that’s just too lazy to read what I was actually saying, and just a creeper in general, I suggest that you shouldn’t do what your username implies and get off this website.

To the question about Spanish, it really depends where you get placed. The beginning levels start with the very basics and go on up through all the the verb tenses and vocabulary. In your senior winter, you can study abroad in Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, or Spain, depending on where the new program will be, and provided that you get accepted. (they had to cancel the Mexican program because of the drug cartels)

Don’t worry about placement; Exeter will put you in a place where it feels like you’ll do best, and if its too easy, they can let you skip levels.

Hey, are there any specific Exeter boys dorm that you’d recommend?

@DeterminedDude coughPeabody!cough

Honestly, I wouldn’t “recommend” any dorms. The newest dorms, made in the 1960s, are Main St., the dorm I’m in, and Ewald. Housing usually has a good idea where you should be placed, so its not exactly something to mess with. You don’t want to find yourself in a situation where you requested a dorm that really doesn’t fit you, either the dorm itself, or the people in it.

Just don’t request a dorm.

Can you request being with or without a roommate?

Usually, no. I Newer kids tend to get roommates, and most people prefer having a single until their senior year.

Is there some type of housing questionaire for being placed in dorms?

No. They just put you in dorms based on other criteria, I honestly don’t know. If you’re going to be a prep, then you have to be placed in a “hall” or a big dorm, not a house. If you’re a new lower and up, then you can get into a house.

Well, I would rather be in a big dorm anyway, and I am entering as a prep.

Which is better for prep year? Bio or Physics?

Also, is there anyway that I can request a dorm or a single?
