Questions about FIGs??

How quickly do FIGs fill up? I really want to take this one FIG, it is an honors FIG. But my SOAR isn't until August (I'm on vacation for most of the summer) which means that I will be enrolling very late. I know that FIG groups can only hold 20 students but I really want this one FIG, do you think I can get it?

Also does anybody know what kind of FIGs are offered in the spring semester?

Send an email to Greg Smith (glsmith2@ls.wisc.edu) (he is an Assistant Dean in L&S and the Director of FIGs) and explain that your SOAR is not until the end of the summer and you really want to take (insert name here) FIG because (insert reason here) and can he ‘pencil you in’ to hold a spot.

Are FIGs available for all subjects? Can I just ask my advisor what FIGs can I sign up for or should I know specifically which one I want to be in for next year?
