I am starting to be a bit concerned and wonder if others have concerns or answers to my questions. We have not received a bill yet despite the fact that it is due 8/10/06. Nor have we received the final financial aid package. All this makes it difficult to apply for loans and make arrangements for monthly pay through AMS. Also, I have been checking the Koster website to waive health insurance and the waive process has still not been implemented. I checked several other colleges on the site and 100% of the other schools I checked are activated. Then I called Koster and they said that the OK to activate waiving comes from the school. Is this SOP for Smith Financial Services.

I'm still waiting for my revised financial aid package from Smith, too. When I spoke with them yesterday they said they were mailing them out today, so hopefully we'll both get some answers by the end of this week.

Well, we're not looking for a revised package...just the formal package with information. Hopefully, we're in the same boat and it will arrive shortly. I'll wait til Friday to contact Smith directly.

Yeah, contact Smith directly as soon as you can, just to make sure that they didn't forget to send it (this has happened to me). Depending on where you live, the time you receive basically anything from them varies. I live on the West Coast and I always get stuff way later than other people.

They seem to be trying a new system this year and I don't think it is working so well. Do call or send them an email. We just got our D's financial aid package and I don't think bills have gone out yet.
Ellen

Thanks, Ellen, right now were dealing with repeated requests for final transcripts from the admission's office despite the fact the registrar's office has already given D 27 credits for her first year at the college she attended 2005-2006. That leads me to believe someone at Smith has seen the final transcript. Hopefully, these minor annoyances will be fixed shortly. D cant' wait to arrive at Smith and start a "real" college experience.

I'm still waiting for my revised financial aid package from Smith, too]]

Make sure they credit 100.00 back for your room deposit. Smith credits only 100.00 each semester toward the 500.00 (?) total deposit, but you dont get the final 100.00 back until the Oct. after you graduate. I informed Smith I wanted interest on my money if they were going have use of it over a 4 yr period and explained opportunity loss, but received nothing more than a polite chuckle in reply. ;)

My mom talked to the school yesterday, she was worried about the billing stuff too. They said all the info will be available online through bannerweb today, and we will be getting financial stuff in the mail next week. As for the insurance form, it is officially available today according to a Smith e-mail.
