Sorry for all the questions. I just need some help :)

I can answer a few. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
1. You can call the Thagard health center. They should have that information, or be able to transfer you to someone who does.
3. As long as your admissions deposit is paid, you can go and get the FSUID, but you have to be at the campus in order to do that.
6. I hear that it very safe. They have the blue light walkway to notify police of any incidents, and they have buses so that you don't have to walk by yourself.
7. There is one gym (it's a separate building), called the Leach center.
8. The housing calendar is on Florida State University Housing
9. If you can handle the courseload, I don't see why not.
10. Study abroad is covered by scholarships. Bright futures will only pay during the Fall and Spring semesters (not the summer).
11. Yes
12. The first day, I believe you meet with an advisor to plan your schedule.
13. LS = Liberal Studies. You are required to take a certain number of gen. ed. classes to get a diploma (the list is on the registrar site). This includes 2 math, 2 english, science, humanities, cross cultural, etc...
15. Bright futures covers Fall and Spring semesters, so it will start Fall '08.

You can order a meal membership online or wait until orientation.
Most people get tired of the cafeteria after a while so don't buy more meals than you will actually use. Welcome to CampusDish at Florida State University!

In the past, we received the housing assignment and roommate contact information over the summer. If you have a specific roommate you wanted to room with, you should put that on your housing application.

16.There is currently a "special" on Garnet Bucks, $250 for $225. Do they do this often? Would this be a reason to purchase Garnet bucks now? Just curious. They are good until graduation, yes?

typically AP scores are available in July. if you have previously taken AP exams , you can have those scores forwarded to FSU now (just give college board a call). Most students starting in the summer or fall will not have their results yet for this years exams. so, for purposes of scheduling at orientation, it would seem like a good idea to get whatever scores/credits you have from junior year or earlier to fsu so that they can be factored in during orientation. Then you can send your May 2008 scores when they come out. Obviosuly, if you are taking an AP exam this May, you don't want to enroll in that course during orientation as you may get credit for it (depending on your score). For example, my s is taking the macroeconomics AP exam in a few weeks. this is a core course for his major. hopefully, he will score 3 or better and not have to take that course at FSU.

17 Garnet Bucks are dollars good for food at the variety of food locations on campus. You buy these when you are running out of FlexBucks. When you buy a meal plan, you get some FlexBucks. But you might run out before the end of the meal plan term. To keep from carrying cash, you can buy Garnet Bucks separately from a meal plan. Your card uses up the FlexBucks before it starts using your Garnet bucks. FlexBucks carry over from summer to fall if you continue a fall/sping meal plan. And fFexBucks carry over from fall to spring. But they DO NOT carry over at the end of spring. But Garnet Bucks can be used until graduation. Either can be used for purchases at the convenience type stores, so at the end of term if you have FlexBucks, you can stock up on degergent, shampoo, chips, sodas, etc

So, what should I order now? Garnet Bucks? What if all the residence ahlls I put down require a meal membership and I don't eat that much.. so I rather have Garnet Bucks or Flex Bucks?

You can wait until you find out if the dorm you get requires a meal plan. If it does, take the smallest number of meals which gives the most flex bucks.

This is kind of an add on to question 5. If were're starting in the summer, when do we find out about our dorm assignments? In May? I would suspect June would be too late on account of residence halls open on June 20 for the summer term.

New question--#18-is there a link to cvourse descriptions? D has been looking at courses for summer and fall, and was looking for a link to the course descriptions or a course catalogue. Does that exist anymore? Or is the title and number all you really get.... Thanks

If you go under course search (in secure apps), and click on the Section number, it'll give you a little overview of the course and sometimes give you access to a syllabus.
