<p>I have a few specific questions about Forbes for any student or parent who is familiar with the dorm:</p>
<ol>
<li> Is there good overhead lighting in Forbes or will my daughter need to bring a floor lamp?</li>
<li> Is there lighting in the desk or will she need to bring a desk lamp?</li>
<li> Is there a hutch that comes over the desk (for books) or will she need to bring one?</li>
</ol>
<p>Trying to figure out if we can move everything in the smaller car versus the gas-guzzler (8 1/2 hour drive) to try to save some gas money. Thanks!</p>
<p>To the best of my memory: There is overhead lighting (I know we did not buy a lamp), we did get a desk lamp (but I also believe there was one built into the desk, there is a shelf over the desk for books.</p>
<p>Take the smaller car - Pitt is less than 30 mins from Target, Best Buy etc so you can get whatever you need after you actually see the room.</p>
<p>If you like Bed bath and Beyond, you can also order it at the BBBY near you and pay for it and pick it up in Pittsburgh. Since we flew in, that is what we did. </p>
<p>We brought the clothing on the plane, and picked up everything else in Pittsburgh. Did not want to do the 8-1/2 hour drive each way.</p>
<p>DonnaMom: Thanks for the info. My daughter attends a boarding school for high school so we have already bought all of her dorm supplies (printer, lamps, hutch, etc…) so, unfortunately, we’ll be driving so that we don’t have to repurchase those items. Not looking forward to the drive home either!</p>
