questions about format of siemens paper

ok so i'm scrambling to finish my siemens paper... about the format, do they want APA or MLA citations? what should be on the title page? under methodology, do they want you to specifically list the variables and experimental conditions and stuff (my school does for my science research class)? ahh

Any citation, as long as it abides by the Mayfield handbook (on site), is acceptable.

I have the same question for the title page, though. It seems like the only thing on there is, well, the title of your paper.

You don't have to answer like a list, as long as the methodology, future work, etc are implied then you're good. And for citations, I just used bibtex and there really isn't a strict format. Just look at all the different ways people cite in scientific journals. Yea for the first stage (semifinalist) they don't want to know who you are so there's no bias.

hey, i had a question about formatting the siemens report
do they throw out your paper if you do not abide by the 20 pg limit/ 12 pt font/ 1 inch margins?
a friend of mine who was a semifinalist last year played with his margins a bit. would they allow for someone to mayb go 21 pages? with like 11.5 font and .9 margins?
lol im really scrapping to fit everything in...figures take up a lot of space...
thanks a lot for the advice.

i don't think it matters if you change things a little bit. I think the main reason they have those requirements is for readability.
just be careful you don't change things too much. And, I don't think they would just throw your paper away. I mean, the reason for the competition is to encourage science, and reward good research. I don't think something as trivial as a few changes in your formatting would kill you. Like I said before, just be careful...i guess

Yea, they probably won't care if your report has .9 in margins.

what about having an extra (21st) page. will they not count that as a part of the paper? cuz one of my tables wont fit on any other page...
thx alot for your prompt responses
