Questions about Gateway to Prep and SAO

Hi,
I am wanting to start some of my boarding school applications over my long weekend, and i'm not sure how I should start. I have made a Gateway to Prep account and it has all the schools I am applying to on it but I am scared to send in my candidate profile incase I cant change it later. So my first question would be can I change my candidate profile after I have submitted and moved on to the next step? Also do you recommend doing the essays on SAO or Gateway to prep. From what I can tell for the SAO you send 1 essay into all your schools and on Gateway to Prep you do lots of separate essays am I right? What would be most helpful is if someone who has recently gone through the application process on Gateway to Prep or SAO could explain it to me and my fellow first time applicant how everything works and talk about the application process in depth. Thanks in advance!

Do all your composition off line and paste it in only when you are ready to submit for sure.

Your understanding of the essay differences is pretty accurate. The basic information submitted is the same to all schools, and each school will have supplements on both SAO and Gateway.

thanks BlairParent do you happen to know whether or not the candidate profile on Gateway to Prep can be edited after submission?

As I recall, no. Once submitted nothing can, I believe.

It can’t be edited after submission. Many schools, however, will say that you shouldn’t wait too long before sending Iin the profile. I think that they said that if there is something else you wanted to share in that section later that you can add it in at the end of your application. If I remember correctly there was a space at the end of all the ones that we did that allowed for extra submissions. We thought about adding more, but didn’t bother.
