First, I hear that the college has a dearth of minority students. Is this true? Because, I am a minority and wonder if minority students have trouble fitting in.

Second, does this college have an intellectual feel to it. I am looking for colleges like Reed College.

Bump. I am also wondering.

My son is a sophomore at Goucher and he loves it. We are caucasion, so our input, I realize, is limited. The college has a very friendly and accepting atmosphere, with a decidedly liberal leaning student body. I don’t think a minority student would feel intimidated. My son finds it quite stimulating intellectually. Classes are small, which lends itself to discussion more than just lecture. Relationships with professors are the norm. You are a name and a face not, not just a number. The best advice I could give would be to visit; perhaps an overnight stay with classroom visits. Are you trying to decide for next Fall?

Best of luck!
