Questions about GPA Conversions

Hello guys, I am from Indonesia currently heading to a United States college education. I am currently wondering, what is exactly the conversion from Indonesian Grading System (Competency Based Curriculum) to US Grading System (GPA)?

My average school grade is around 85 in Indonesia's grades.

In the College Board conversion tool, I was shocked to learn that 85 would translate to 3.0 in US GPA. I didn't believe it at first, so I asked an education consultant during an American University seminar in Jakarta. The education consultant said that 85 would translate to 3.5 in the US GPA. This made me very confused.

I know that us Indonesians are rarely going straight to university as undergraduates in the US, especially aspiring high school seniors like me that didn't go to an international school, but I am hoping that admissions experts or education consultants in here can share how exactly does the Indonesian Grades convert into GPA. Thank you very much! :D :D :D

Don’t convert. Instead indicate
1° what percentage students in your school typically get each score on the scale.
2° what percentage students NATIONALLY get the top 4-5 scores (ie., 90, 85, 80, 75).

I confirm that an Indonesian 85 is not an American 3.0.
