This thread is for everyone who is worried about getting a B; listen to what the community has to say to this question. I've noticed that people always post repeatedly on this subject matter. Instead, these people should read this thread.

For the Community as a whole:
Does getting around 2 Bs in HIGH level hurt your acceptance chance?

Um no...... B's may hurt you a little unless they're in classes with a reputation of being hard or it's in a different field of interest than that of you apply as. (ex. you apply as a math major, so your B's in english won't hurt you badly if at all)

I have like straight B+s. But I am in 5 AP classes. I was in 6 AP, but had to switch out of one. Also I go to a prestigious science academy. I'm kinda worried. If I just took 4 normal classes I'd prolly have more As.

If all you have to offer the school is academics, and you get one B, then yes, it's a problem. If your recs and ECs show that you are an interesting, engaging, real person who will actually contribute to the school in areas other than academics, then no, it isn't really a problem.

For reference: I have 3 Bs, a B- and a C+ this semester (admittedly, they're in AP classes). Am I worried? Yes. Should I have tried harder? Yes. Is there anything I can do about it now? No. Oh well.

^ heh, that's the same way I feel right now about my grades. I got like 3 B's this quarter but hey, it's senior year and I honestly don't care which college I go to anymore. I'm just going to live my senior days to the fullest, savor each and every moment with my friends and classmates and teachers, rather than waste my time stressing and worrying over little things.

everyone seems to be messing up this junior year, so even with my one (and hopefully not two) B in math/science, rank will shift accordingly, and ill still be top ten. but you never know...

Can you like "make up" for an earlier grade? For instance if you get a High "B" in a lower level math and then like literally kill in pre-cal honors or AP Calculus AB or BC?

That's a really interesting observation radionowhere; I've noticed it too. 2009 seems to be a really competitive class (among the higher tier of students), so we're all taking like 352343 APs.
