Questions about "hooks" (URM and athlete related)

What would be considered a URM? I'm of Nepalese descent, as I was born there and I immigrated here when I was about 10. Is that a minority, or are they just specifically talking about Native Americans, African Americans, etc. etc. etc.?

Also, what would be considered an "athlete" with a hook? I don't play football/basketball/baseball, but I'm on Varsity soccer and I'm the captain of the golf team. How does this all factor in?

an athlete that is considered a hook is one that is being recruited by colleges -- so you would have to be good enough to garner some regional and state recognition and have coaches interested in you. If you are a senior it is probably too late -- but if you are very good and a junior or earlier, there might be a possibility -- I am not well versed on this, though.

I believe that those from Nepal are considered Asian, just like those from India -- and while that is a minority in the US, it is an overrepresented minority in the college admission process and will not help you.
