<p>I'm a current student at Horace Mann. If you have any questions about HM, you can ask here. I've only attended for grades 9-12 though, so I can't answer questions about the middle school.</p>
<p>I am currently in 8th grade and I’m going through the high school application process :/</p>
<p>Horace Mann is my top choice and I’ve been dreaming of going there for a long time - I think I have a good chance of getting in, but my parents, classmates, and strangers have been telling me that the students are arrogant and “cliquey”. I have also heard that students aren’t supportive of each other and it’s very competitive. These comments have left me uncertain about placing Horace Mann as my 1st choice 
However, I have visited Horace Mann and think it would be a great place for me, but I just wouldn’t want to get sucked into this negative school culture …</p>
<p>Please list the pros and cons of Horace Mann and clarify some of the points I mentioned above. Thank you so much - I just want to make sure I make the right decision about high school!</p>
<h2>How does it compare (academically and socially) to Collegiate? Trinity? Does it focus on progressive education like Dalton or is it more traditional learning? How is the drug and alcohol usage (I know you’re representing your school but please be honest)? Thank you.</h2>
