Can I apply for freshman housing if I have been accepted but have not yet registered for USC?

If I apply for FSH/TO and am accepted, do I have to then do them, or do I have the choice of declining my acceptance?

Thanks!

i sent in my housing stuff last week, but i haven't sent in my acceptance to usc yet. it's adviseable to send in your housing form as soon as possible so that you're more likely to get your first choice.

Ah, okay - I can submit my housing application before I decide on attending USC.

Why did you not do the housing application online?

i submitted my housing (online) but not my enrollment commitment. my reasoning: 30$ is way less than 300.

I'm sure that during orientation, you can tell your advisor that you want to opt out.

My S was accepted but I don't recall seeing anything about housing selections. Did it come in the "Welcome to the Trojan family" folder? He had not planned to send any acceptance $ in until after he hears from all schools.

Yes, it did. There are two 'magazines' in that folder. One is "Welcome to USC" and the other is "Living at USC". The housing application and info is in the "Living at USC" magazine.

wait... you are allowed to send your housing deposit, even if you're not sure you're going to USC yet?

From what bluebeard and socks have said, it appears so. And the fact that I can apply online without any problems before I have even enrolled seems to confirm that I/you can. But you do need to be accepted first...
