I am an undergraduate. I have a VERY strong will of attending medical school.

The first question is about picking major. {Version 01} Major: Biochemistry Minor: Health profession {Version 02} Major: Health profession Minor: Biochemistry Which version is better?

The second question annoyed me for a long time. I heard of a statement: Which medical school you attend is not important. If you can pass a board(a test?), you can become a doctor. No one gonna see which medical school you attend. It that true?

You should major in something academic, which would be like biochemistry. Health profession seems like a more vocational major to me, although others will probably be able to advise you better. Biochemistry is definitely an acceptable major, though, and minors don’t really matter to medical schools.

You’re going to get a good education at most U.S. medical schools, and you can probably get a good residency wherever you go, but in my opinion I would rather go to certain medical schools over others that are less established. People probably won’t focus too much on where you went to school, though.

Major biochem avoid health professions majors and minors completely. They are total wastes of time.

Where you go to medical schools only really comes into play if you 1) Want to stay there and 2) want to go into academia. For the vast majority of doctors where you went won’t play a big role in your future career.

The med school you go to (top 10) only matters when you want to go into research, if you want to do primary care, it really doesnt matter. Thats my understanding anyways, what do I know, Im a business major.
