Hi everyone! I was accepted RD to Northeastern and am considering it as one of my top options (still waiting on USC and waitlisted at BC, which might pan out for me). But I wanted to hear a little firsthand about the social life on campus. From what I hear, Northeastern isn't a huge party school. I'm not looking for a school where all people do is party, but I do enjoy going out on weekends, whether to a house party, out on the town, or whatever. I've heard there's not much to do if you're under 21 or looking for parties on campus. Is this true?
Also, how big is school spirit on campus? Pride in your school is important to me and I'm not sure how much Northeastern students fit into the whole school spirit, college-life archetype, which is something I'm looking for. Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks!

There is plenty of partying. Plenty. It can be a little tricky to tap into at first-- Boston apartments are small and can only fit so many people, so giant house parties are limited (although I went to plenty up in Mission Hill), and you have to know someone to get an invite. Regardless, it’s not really true that Northeastern “isn’t a party school”, it’s just that the party scene is a little different because of the size of housing.

It’s definitely not a school-pride type of atmosphere, at least when I went there (a few years ago, to be fair). Everyone does enjoy hating on BU, though.
