Hi! I’m going into my second year at a community college and applying this fall for admission for Fall 2016 at a UC. I applied in high school to the UCs as well and got into 3 of the 4 UCs that I applied to, but decided to end up going to community college instead for various reasons. Now it’s time for me to get ready for transfer.
Today I tried to create an application using the only e-mail that I regularly update and check. However, that e-mail was already tied to the online application ID that I used in high school. I was wondering, should I e-mail support services to get them to delete that account from the system so I can still use that e-mail without the attachment of my high school app? (Is that even possible?) I thought that it would have been deleted automatically anyways since it’s been 2 years, but it’s still there. There is also an option that you can create a new application from the existing online ID you have (so basically, two applications tied to the same ID account). But because it’s still linked to the previous application’s ID, then it would also be associated with my high school stuff. Which is fine, my high school application was strong, but I’d kind of like to start on a blank slate if that makes sense. Does admissions even look at transfer’s prior applications, is that even allowed? Should I just use a different e-mail to create a separate transfer account that isn’t also associated with my high school application? Even then, though, my prior high school stuff would still be in the system, so I’m not sure if that would be much of a difference. Would they think I’m being sneaky, trying to escape being associated with my high school app self? I’m just confused with which way to go…
Also, another question I wish to ask is since I’m transferring after 2 years and at the time of my app I only have 1 year of extra curriculars is: I can write in my app some of the stuff that I did in high school right? My focus of course will be last year, but I would also like to add an internship I did in high school and whatnot. Is that possible? What is the limit for how far back you can go in years? This also relates back to my dilemma I talked about above because if I have my transfer application tied to the ID that has my high school application then I don’t want to list the same things twice…
I would really appreciate any help. Thank you so much.
