I have some questions regarding parents raising funds on behalf of their children for organizations from around the world China, Africa, India etc. These children are very young from 13 and up.

Parents along with their children approach other parents outside of school for money for these fundraisers. We are not talking about the usual $5 or $6 for car washing, food bank or baby-sitting. The request is for substantial amount like $50 to $100 per family so they can raise $10000 to $20000. These children are then adding these parent driven fundraising activities as their honor society achievements and in their college applications.

How do the college admission officers look at these large fundraisers by young children? Are these large fund raising activities considered a measure of success to get admissions into college? Does this put certain students at an advantage over the others in the application pool?
