Questions about Placement Exams

I am planning to attend Session F, and I have a few questions about the placement exam(s).

If I got 5 on my AP Calc AB, would I be exempt from taking Math Placement Exam?

What level of difficulty are Biology and Chemistry Placement Exams, SAT2 level or AP level?

Say, I’m interested in Pre-Health, should I take Biology Placement Exam? I haven’t taken AP Biology, but it says in order to take Biology Placement Exam, I should have taken AP Bio before. Can I take it anyway?

Thanks.

You must have taken the AP bio exam and received a 4 or 5 to take the placement exam.

i wasnt aware of any placement exams....what're we talking about CAS?

these answers are based on CAS.
1. Yes you would be exempt (if you're not in a major requiring math you would also be exempt from all future math- like ever)
2. i'm not sure about the Biology placement exams, but based on the language ones they should be sat2 level (the language exams WERE the SAT 2s) get someone who took the bio to help with that question.
3. I would take it just because. It can't hurt to see where you place.

Well, like someone said, you only take the bio placement exam if you took the AP Biology test and scored a 4 or 5. And, the test wasn't an SAT2, at least I didn't feel it was, but not AP level either.

The biology and chemistry exams were not at all difficult. You could say that they're on roughly the same level as SAT II's, but I think that even that is an exaggeration.

While all students taking the biology exam will take the same test, the chemistry exam will be split into two: the general and the honors. Even if you are interested in pre-health, the question of whether or not you should take the biology placement test should rest on whether you want to place into the honors curriculum or be exempt from principles of biology.

Also, feel free to take the test even if you did not take AP biology in high school. When I took the test, there were several people there who were in that circumstance. The only catch, the procter said, is that you do so at your own risk (which is bombing the test and having wasted an hour). The same holds for the chemistry placement exams.
