<p>1) When you put in your ethnicity are you also supposed to place in your country of origin if you are Asian American, Asian (including Indian Subcontinent), or Hispanic/ Latino? </p>

<p>Is it all optional. I'm black and hispanic. Both my parents came from trinidad and tobago. The hispanic in me comes from my great grandfather who was venezuelan (he moved to trinidad and tobago). im confused on how i should fill this out. can i just check black & hispanic/ latino and just leave it?</p>

<p>Check all race categories that apply to you: So just check black and hispanic. Then for country of origin, just say the country you were born in. </p>

<p>There is a place on the common app where your parents say where they are from.</p>
