So I’m signed up to take the SAT II Chemistry and Math II soon, but I don’t think I’m prepared yet for Chemistry. I feel as though it might just be better to take it in the fall after thoroughly studying this summer.
So, do you guys think I should just take the Math II test on test day, and can I even do this? Do I just tell the proctor that I don’t want to take the Chem one? Also, would my money be refunded if I did this, or not?
OR, would it be worth it to just to give it a shot if I can’t be refunded, and just retake it in the fall if necessary? If I do this, I’m just worried that colleges that require you to submit all test scores would look badly at a low score on the first attempt.
What do you think I should do?
Thanks in advance!
I don’t think your money will be refunded. I think you should just give it a shot, because if you cancel one score all of your scores cancel for subject tests. Not really many colleges require all scores. Only select few, and for those who do require to see them all they usually will be happy if you have 2 to 3 really good scores.
If you’re taking chemistry now, take the subject test now. While you might have the best intentions of studying through the summer, chances are it will not happen. Take the test while the material is somewhat fresh in your mind; you may surprise yourself. As mentioned above, if necessary, retake the test. The few schools that require all scores are really not going to analyze your scores from the first attempt to the second in any depth.
Ok makes sense, I’ll go ahead and give it a shot then. Thanks guys!
