Questions about Schreyers honors college

Im a senior in high school, planning on majoring in engineering. I already submitted my PSU application and was just wondering about the honors college.
My questions are:

  1. Is undergraduate research only for those in the honors college? (I want to do undergrad research)
  2. Can I transfer into Schreyers honors college my second year or mid freshman year? (I may decide to do that)
  3. How is the workload?
  4. What is the gpa requirement for getting into schreyers? (if i were to apply as an incoming freshman)
  5. Do i have to be in the honors college in order to take honors classes?

  2. It can be harder that way, and you don't get the scholarships associated with being a scholar. Apply as a freshman.
  3. Same as anything else, with a bit of extra work in honors courses. Later, I'd expect the thesis is a lot of work.

I dont think my GPA is high enough for the honors college and the deadline is tomorrow, or else I would apply.

@Ajpat123 No, the priority deadline is tomorrow, but if you look at the Schreyer’s website, priority does not mean much except that you are given the opportunity to interview (which apparently doesn’t count anyway). You can still apply.
