Thought I would put this here since it is more suitable in this forum.

A few questions about sending score reports.

How does this 4 free score reports thing work, If I use one now, then next time I register do I still have 3, or none?

If I use my free score report now, before the test or immediately following the October 9th test, then the October 9th scores do get sent with that report right?

How do I rush scores, is that through the collegeboard site or on test day while filling out the form?

How long does it take for score reports to be sent, the October 9th scores come back October 28, so if I submit the report then, will it be in to a college by the ED deadline of November 1.

I would like to know the answer to these questions too, especially the last two. I have been trying to figure out how you rush scores but the college board website is really vague and doesn’t give a real answer, as far as I can tell.

I called the college board last week to clarify how sending score reports work. Each registration is considered separately, and you get 4 free score reports each time you register. For instance, if you took the SAT in October, and went under that registration on the website, you could indicate the 4 schools you want as free reports and also pay for any additional reports. If you don’t use score choice, they will send all your scores on all previous SATs/SAT subjects tests up to that date with that report. If you only want certain SAT dates or certain subject tests sent you can click on/off the scores you want sent, and only those will be sent. So-if you do plan on taking the SAT more than once, you can wait (assuming you don’t miss any application deadlines) and send all the scores when you take it again. They actually are helpful at explaining things when you call if there is something you can’t understand from their website!

The colleges will usually tell you on their admissions website the last test date that will be counted for early decision. If they indicate that the October test date is okay for early admissions, I think it will be okay even if the scores arrive a little late.

About rush reports:

Depending on what time of day you submit your rush request, it may take a day or more to process it. Once your request is processed, rush reporting sends your score report within two working days (not counting holidays and weekends) either electronically or by first-class mail, depending on how each institution receives scores…

Instructions for how to order rush reports can be found on the CollegeBoard website:

JML – how do you call College Board? I was desperate to get through to them once and could NOT find a phone # – can you share it with me? Then I’ll give you codes for NORAD. :)

Just go on one of their opening web pages, scroll to the bottom and click on “contact us”. It will take you to a page with numbers for many different topics and also their main numbers. I don’t remember which one I used, but I got through fairly quickly (I was on hold for a short time). They do have certain hours which I don’t recall, but it will be on the recorded message when you call. Good luck!
