I'm currently planning on applying to the University of Maryland as a transfer student for the Fall 2014 semester. Once this summer rolls around I'll have two years of college under my belt at East Carolina University. My one concern is whether or not to withhold my transcript (if you can call it that) from UMUC which is an online institution. UMD requires transfer students to complete an introductory english class before applying so I decided to take an online class through UMUC last summer. Taking the course online would've allowed me to apply to Maryland for this spring semester. I regretfully decided to blow the online class off and it never even crossed my mind to drop it because I kept on telling myself I would complete the coursework eventually. Long story short I never completed the course and obviously the resulting grade was an F. I don't want this one class to undermine my overall decent gpa that I've acquired here at ECU. Looking back, it was an irresponsible and premature decision to take the class in the first place. So I have two questions...

Would it be wise of me to send in my UMUC transcript even though it's only the one english class?

How much do you think that one online class will impact my chances of getting in? I know it's much too late now, but I wish I never decided to take it as I don't believe it truly displays my character and work ethic. I wasn't thinking straight, only towards the end result, and didn't dedicate the amount of time necessary for the class.

Any help or insight would be appreciated, thanks!
