<p>Hey I was wondering if you guys knew how long it took for the SIR to process? When do you know what college you get into? And when are you able to activate your UCSC email?

<p>Alot of people I know are choosing college 9 as their first choice, though a big majority of them are Asians :P.</p>
<p>What do you mean to process? What needs to go through? On your portal there is an activate email option. I believe you find out housing options mid June. Way too far away in my opinion.</p>
<p>And by housing options I meant college affiliation. I’m half asleep sorry :/</p>

<p>And I tried activating but it kept saying either my account was disabled or that I needed to enter an activation code, which I didn’t receive. And then someone tells me that CruzID is defunct and now UCSC uses SlugMail…
So I emailed <a href=“mailto:help@ucsc.edu”>help@ucsc.edu</a> and awaiting their reply.</p>
<p>In google type in slugmail ( I don’t know how else to get the link) and you can type in the username stuff there that’s what I did. I think you can activate it on slugmail</p>

<p>Well I just logged on the slugmail and it works perfectly.</p>
<p>It just sucks that the email isn’t straight up <a href=“mailto:username@ucsc.edu”>username@ucsc.edu</a>. Instead it’s <a href=“mailto:username@slugmail.ucsc.edu”>username@slugmail.ucsc.edu</a> which doesn’t sound as cool. Haha…</p>
<p>Technically your email is still <a href=“mailto:username@ucsc.edu”>username@ucsc.edu</a>. The @slugmail.ucsc.edu is just a way for your email to be forwarded to slugmail. For example: If you send an email to: <a href=“mailto:jdoe@ucsc.edu”>jdoe@ucsc.edu</a>, it will still send to jdoe. You don’t have to tell people to send you emails to anything @slugmail AND all your sent mail shouldn’t have @slugmail in it either.</p>
<p>Email sent to <a href=“mailto:username@ucsc.edu”>username@ucsc.edu</a> works just fine. I always provide this version of my email and not the @slugmail.ucsc.edu version.</p>

<p>Hmm… So people can send an email to <a href=“mailto:username@ucsc.edu”>username@ucsc.edu</a> and I can receive it on my slugmail, correct?</p>

<p>Okay cool, I sent a test message to the @ucsc.edu one and recieved it on the SlugMail email.</p>
