Questions about Standardized Tests (ACT/SAT, etc)

On the Common App, it asks you to self-report your scores. Is this absolutely necessary? I have seen some people on CC say that you should report all your tests while others claim that submitting only the highest score is also fine.

Also, let's say I take the SAT twice and score higher the second time around. Will schools consider the new score if I send it? Would it be sufficient to just have the testing agency send the score report or should I also call the college and notify in advance?

Finally, does it matter whether you submit scores to a college without having a submitted an application there first?

Thanks!

They want you to list all the SATs you took. Do not superscore; it wants you to list them in their complement.

You should use CollegeBoard to have your SATs scores sent to the colleges you are applying to.

What if you have taken the SAT I, SAT II, and ACT multiple times each.

Can you not report any of the SAT I scores and just report the ACT/SAT IIs(all of these)?
In the end I plan to not send any of the SAT scores either, and I will later have them removed from my transcript by my GC.
