Questions about Stanford

First off, does Stanford ever take two people from the same school? I'm worried that I might be compared to this girl in my grade. I'm not very worried, but I'm just wondering.

Second, I'm not sure if I am showing my commitment to my passion enough. I have read some articles by people who have literally devoted their life to things. Can you tell me if I'm looking good? I'm passionate about music btw
-I've played guitar for 8 years, and I just started playing piano a few months ago
-I can sight read very easy guitar music (the notation; tab is for jerks)
-I'll do band a choir for all 4 years of high school
-I've accompanied some of the choir songs on piano (I'm just starting, but I'm not a beginner because I've been playing for so long)
-I'll do the school musical for all 4 years of high school
-I've played at a fundraiser for this program that I'm in with some really famous Jazz players and I might travel to Cali and do it again this summer (wish me luck)(btw, it was with Harry Connick Jr and others)
-Whenever there's a function after school, I serenade the guests while they're socializing before the function, whether it's a speaker for adults, or an art auction
-Also (and this is just kind of a like little talent I have), I have perfect pitch, meaning I can sing any note almost perfectly in tune without really hearing music. <- you might not believe me because I know this usually takes years to perfect, but I guess I was just born with it.

Anyways, do you think that's all enough? I have some other EC, but this is basically what I really like doing. Do you think Stanford would like this? Thanks

Depending on the quality of your high school, Stanford could take several. They’ve taken anywhere from 7-10 from my high school (class size is about 200, and we’re not located in California).

Your passion for music shows some, but it doesn’t seem super noteworthy. Some of the kids at Stanford are conservatory level musicians who have been playing violin since they were three. Unless you are fantastic at guitar and are going to send in a musical supplement to back it up, I don’t see music being a significant hook, especially considering that guitars aren’t in orchestras, so there probably isn’t an ensemble director to advocate for you to admissions.

Oh… thanks for being honest I guess

By the way, I wasn’t looking to play music at Stanford. That’s just what I was going to talk about if I applied there

@Nissin. Continue doing what you are doing…if you love guitar, piano, musicals, singing…it’s wonderful. Don’t do it to impress Stanford…but do it for YOU…because when it comes to writing the essays…it will be these things that will percolate and inspire you to write from YOUR heart…
