I'm thinking about whether I should go to Summer Orientation or not, it's turning out to be really inconvenient.

The only reason I want to go is to get priority in selecting classes, but I was wondering..

I am only taking the College 9 required course, Math19A, and Computer Science 12B.

If I don't go, is it actually hard to get those three classes?? I mean MATH and such shouldn't be too hard to get right?

You should be fine, but you can’t be picky about the times of your classes. You will be fine with getting into the core class, but it might be earlier than you want or a bad time.

First series calc is pretty popular since a lot of freshman take it, but you can almost certainly crash it if it runs out of room since people drop out once they find out how hard it is. Accelerated computer science is similar to calc. People will probably drop out after a couple weeks because it goes by fast I hear.

Thanks for the information, very helpful.

Is it possible to come to Summer Orientation later than 8AM? Would they still let me in?

I think so. Correct me if I’m wrong, Cali Trumpet, but wasn’t the first hour just them making speeches and drowning us in refreshments?
