Questions about taking gap year before Law School

I am an international student in my senior year now. I graduate in December 2010. I was aiming to start Law School in August 2011, but due to enormous course load at school I still haven't been able to take the LSAT. I am still hoping to see if I can take the December LSAT and get applications in. My GPA is 3.6. I am not very keen on taking a year off before Law School but if all fails I might have to do that eventually. I want to know if that is a bad thing and deters my chances of getting into Law School. What should I do? also, If I take the year off, what kind of jobs will Law Schools find relevant.
